Port-a-Party Anyone?

This week we shot at this really cool gallery/café called Royal/T in Culver City. The owner is a huge collector of Japanese and international art, and basically started the gallery to showcase her hundreds of pieces and bring an appreciation of the art world to Angelenos.

One of the installations was this piece called the “Porta-Party.” From the outside it looks like the typical port-a-potty, but from the inside… well, I’ll let the pic speak for itself!

Just had to add this extra pic of my co-host, Gardner Loulan, and I helping each other prep for the shoot. Now that’s teamwork… LX style!

As much as I like to work hard, I play hard too. The launch of Allison Melnick’s Apple Lounge last week was quite the event. It’s sure to take over Hyde’s place as the latest celeb hotspot with Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson and Paris Hilton already making appearances.

To add to your to do list: Make friends with Apple Lounge doorman asap!

Weekend Redux

This was taken during last weekend’s “3 Hour Tour.” Relaxed all day on
a yacht in Newport Beach soaking in the rays, drinking, eating and listening to amazing acoustic performances by singer/ songwriters like Tyler Hilton.

Not bad for a Sunday!

This week, I’m getting ready for the much-awaited opening of Allison Melnick’s Apple Lounge in West Hollywood this Thursday evening. Samantha Ronson is DJ-ing so it should be an action (and celeb) packed event.

Check back next week for my post-party thoughts…

Mo Rocca Spends 5 Minutes with Deborah Chesher

On this episode of 5 Minutes With, Mo puts the lens on prominent rock and roll photographer Deborah Chesher, who coincidentally is also a master of word play*. The two chatted about Deborah’s new book, Everybody I Shot is Dead.

*See what we mean?
